FCC Issues Draft Proposal to Eliminate The Main Studio Rule

The FCC released a draft Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) proposing to eliminate the main studio rule, along with minimum staffing requirements and program origination capabilities.  The draft NPRM is tentatively scheduled to be voted on by FCC Commissioners at the May 18, 2017 open meeting.  Comments and reply comments will be due 30 days and 45 days, respectively, after the NPRM is published in the Federal Register.
