Georgia Power Hosts Light Up The Holidays Contest, Offers Interview Opportunity For GAB Members
Georgia Power is offering the following interview/segment opportunity for Georgia Association of Broadcasters members and their stations any time before Thursday, Dec. 22. The opportunity can be adapted for either television or radio formats.
- Festive & Frugal Holiday Decorating: A Georgia Power representative demonstrates some of the easiest ways to save energy this holiday season with props in-studio. Tips include using a timer for your holiday lights, switching to LED decorations and using reflective decorations to maximize the impact of decorative lighting. The representative can also share important holiday-related safety information to minimize the risk of electrical accidents.
- This segment can also be adapted for post-holiday as viewers remove their decorations and plan for next year — checking your lights for cracked/frayed wires as you take them down, shopping for replacement LEDs on post-holiday clearance, etc.
Please book by calling Georgia Power Media Relations at 404-506-7676

Throughout the holiday season, Georgia Power reminds customers that focusing on energy efficiency can help them save money and energy even as they celebrate. Simple tips for the holidays include switching to energy efficient LED decorations, which use more than 50 percent less energy than traditional decoration, and putting decorations on a timer to ensure they’re only on when people are home, or awake, to enjoy them.
