This key newsroom position involves the tuning in and receiving of all microwave and satellite shots as well as ingest and routing of all live streaming sources and FTP transmissions from the field.
Central to the position is the ability to trim and edit stories and integrate production elements as required.
Candidate must be able to multi-task and communicate effectively and proactively with editorial team in both the control room and newsroom in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
Candidate will work all shifts as assigned.
Candidate must have working knowledge of RF, terrestrial microwave (2Ghz), satellite receivers, FTP technology and IP streaming solutions.
A minimum of three years of experience in Television News or production operations preferred but not required.
Candidate should have working knowledge of microwave and satellite control systems, file based workflow as well as newsroom production systems.
Candidate must have knowledge of video and audio production values and the ability to QA all prospective sources.
Solid non-linear edit skills and editorial acumen is required.
Experience with Avid Newscutter Capture, Interplay, Inews as well as Panasonic P2 is a plus.
Position requires good interpersonal skills.
Candidate should be a strategic planner with a good editorial sense. He/she must be able to interface with key editorial producers and mangers proactively under deadline pressure.
Successful candidate will be technically savvy embracing both the traditional RF and new IP based worlds and have the voice and presence to lead with the best solution in the dynamic world of local TV news.
