Local Radio Freedom Act

The GAB in partnership with the National Association of Broadcasters and the National Alliance of State Broadcasters Associations is working toward gaining sponsorship for the 2015 Local Radio Freedom Act. This joint resolution (known as H. Con. Res. 17 in the U.S. House of Representatives and S. Con. Res. 4 in the U.S. Senate) would oppose any new performance tax levied on local radio stations for the playing and promoting artists’ music.

Georgia’s broadcasters can make their voices heard.  Click on the Tweet Now button below your elected officials’ name to ask them sign on as a co-sponsor of the LRFA.  Congressmen Sanford Bishop, David Scott, Lynn Westmoreland, Rick Allen, and Austin Scott have already shown their support, and we thank them.  Now is the time for the rest of Georgia’s congressional delegation to get behind local radio!
